In NAKED EDGE the heroine is half-Navajo journalist Katherine (Kat) James once rescued by Mountain Ranger Gabriel Rossiter when the cliff she was standing on gave way.  Most would have died from the fall but even with a broken leg, Gabe couldn’t help but admire her strength when she attempted to crawl to save herself. They wouldn’t meet again until sometime later when Kat attends an inipi prayer session.  Gabe once again saves Kat from an overzealous police officer who was dragging her by her hair out of the sweat hut.  Although Gabe was a bitter cynic when it came to women since the death of his fiancé he wanted to protect Kat.  He also wanted to add her to his list of meaningless sex partners, but became intrigued when she told him straight out that at 26 she was a virgin and likely to remain so, until she found her other half (soul mate). 

When it appears there is more going on at Mesa Butte (a sacred Indian burial ground) then meets the eye, Gabe (who has been fired) teams up with Kat, to try and discover why the police were hassling a Navajo prayer sessions and the real truth behind Grandpa Red Cloud’s supposed ‘accidental’ death.   In the meantime, both Gabe and Kat are discovering an undeniable attraction, while someone is definitely ready to commit another murder to stop them from digging too deep.

***  Romantic suspense author Pamela Clare creates another volume in her fabulous I-Team series with this fourth addition taking the time to offer the readers not only her superlative version of award winning romantic suspense but a behind the scenes look at  journalistic reporting, and a thoughtful portrayal and respectful rendition of the meaningful Navajo culture. 

The main protagonists were at first, complete opposites.  Gabe was a rock climbing hot jock whose life had taken on a bitter and cynical edge after the death of his fiancé.  He was tough as nails, no holds barred, no close associations, no strings attached horn dog.  Handsome and fit, Gabe had no trouble finding one-night meaningless sex partners and was anticipating adding Kat to that list.   That Kat seemed immune to his charm, and believed in ‘fairytale’ happily ever afters was rather a jolt, but as they continued to search for the truth, Kat begins to see through to the real Gabe as he begins to heal and believe that his heart has not turned to stone. 

The story is amazingly fast paced, and the romance and passion of the two protagonists is sensually hot, as Gabe begins to see the intelligent, gentle, and strong woman Kat truly is.   Their romance as they barely escape one disastrous attempt after another on their lives is emotional and heart rending.  The dialogs are both intense, moving, and emotional with a real cliff hanging ending that is only one of many tissue grabbing moments.  

Hot, steamy and sexy – this is one heck of a ride and highly recommended!

I started reviewing books many years ago - but my love of reading began as soon as I could read and that’s a long time! My tastes ran from every horse book I could find, to dog books, then gothic romances, and now historical romances with the Regency period having a very close spot in my heart. [Many of my friends, who really know me, say I was born in the wrong era - they’re probably right.] Now that I am retired, and busier than ever, I read almost all genres with the exception of hard core erotica, horror and anything involving more than one sex partner! I am loyal to my tried and true favorite auto-buy authors but love discovering the newer authors as well. I was once a very impatient person, but now retired, and with a book, an audio, or my Kindle by my side - I am the epitome of infinite patience to sit and wait for whatever comes next be it for the light to change, a doctor’s appointment, or a commercial break on the television!
