Josie Turner is infamous in her small hometown of Angel Springs, Texas as the most renowned Rodeo Queen of all time. Everyone in town can tell the romantic, heartbreaking story of how Josie won her title, was proposed to by Luke Anderson in the center ring where she was crowned, and then stood up at the altar. Every year at Rodeo time, that story comes back to haunt Josie, even though she has tried her best to move on during the intervening 10 years. Now, during the 20th year celebration of the Rodeo Queen Competition, Luke shows back up in town. He’s back to stay, and he wants a second chance at Josie’s heart.
I have enjoyed every book I’ve ever read by Teri Wilson and am always waiting for her next story impatiently. Her new “Rodeo Royalty” series is going to be a blockbuster for sure! I love, love, LOVE Rodeo Redemption and simply cannot WAIT for the second book, Rodeo Resurrection, to come out. Inspirational Romance fans: Run, don’t walk, to get your copy of Rodeo Redemption now!
I was initially not extremely excited about the plot of another western romance. Boy was I wrong! Rodeo Redemption is a contemporary, heartwarming, small town delight with so much more than a cowboy and a horse to offer. It also has Teri’s trademark character, an adorable-dog-that-you-just-wanna-squeeze; Josie’s precious pug, Remedy, has an important role in the novel that will delight animal lovers everywhere.
White Rose Press has some of the prettiest cover art I’ve seen on ebooks lately, and the cover for Rodeo Redemption is heartwarming, colorful, crisp and inviting as well, with Remedy taking a prominent place center front. How can you not pick up a book that has an adorable dog on the cover?
I found the depth of the character development of Josie, Luke, and even Josie’s assistant, Ruth (a little bird has whispered to me that Ruth is to get her OWN book with #2, Rodeo Rescue) giving me a better understanding of the characters as well as relating to the emotions and struggles behind their challenges. I cheered when things seemed to finally be going right, and groaned at all the painful setbacks as these two people worked to understand and forgive each other and themselves. The warm glow of this book will remain with me for a good long time. Bravo, Ms. Wilson!
