The war with the Daimons has a new twist… and Dev Peltier and Samia “Sam” Savage are caught in the middle of it all. Sam is used to standing on her own, as her reputation as one of the fiercest Dark-Hunters would indicate. However, she now finds herself needing the help of others and Dev is more than willing to step in. But will it be enough? Just what is Stryker up to?

NO MERCY is the nineteenth book in the Dark-Hunter series but surprisingly can stand fairly well on its own. Sherrilyn Kenyon has a plethora of characters and the complexity of the Dark-Hunter world is outstanding… and yet she does a phenomenal job at making each book understandable to readers unfamiliar with the past books. NO MERCY is no exception although I highly suspect that any new readers to the series will want to enjoy all the previous books after getting a taste of the Dark-Hunter world!

NO MERCY is a fast paced, thrilling tale that doesn’t slow down on the action or the humor! From the very first page, we are given a liberal dose of Dev’s sarcastic wit and Sam matches him word for word with every quip he throws at her. I love the way they banter back and forth, even in the midst of danger. In fact, it is their humorous interactions that keep NO MERCY from becoming too dark.

And oh, what dark turns NO MERCY takes! Sherrilyn Kenyon ramps things up quite a bit. Stryker has a new power at his disposal while Nick is… well, becoming… although becoming what is the real question. Meanwhile, Dev and Sam are facing their own inner demons with their individual memories of their painful pasts.

NO MERCY is Sherrilyn Kenyon at her finest! There’s a reason she remains an auto-buy purchase for me and NO MERCY demonstrates why yet again. Quite frankly, most series begin to wear thin after so many books but somehow Sherrilyn Kenyon manages to keep the magic going. I think this is in large part to the many undercurrents and spectacular secondary characters in her tales. Highly recommended!

My name is Debbie and I love to read just about anything. My favorite books, however, are generally paranormal romances. I am a social worker with the school system in Florida so I get a lot of time off in the summer to read (except when I'm sitting in the dark with no ac thanks to a hurricane)! I'm happily married and have 2 doggie children. I also enjoying working out, "American Idol", and cheering on the Tampa Bay Lightning hockey team.
