Queen Lorna was willing to do anything to save her unborn child and ultimately the entire kingdom of Meric…

Christina Vaughn has been living an uneventful life as a teacher in Pittsburgh until she turns thirty. Now she finds herself in a kingdom called Meric with creatures that don’t even exist in the world she has always known. What dark evil is destroying Meric and can Christina discover her own destiny to stand a chance of surviving?

CONCEPTION is a brilliant start to a new fantasy series! Jennifer Hartz keeps the reader engaged while gradually revealing details about this new and fascinating world. Part of what makes her technique so successful is that her heroine is a seemingly ordinary person who is just as unaware of Meric as we, the readers, are. Her emotions and reactions add an air of authenticity. Readers should note that CONCEPTION is the first in a series and thus there are questions left unanswered. In fact, the ending left me wanting the next book immediately, if only to see how on earth Jennifer Hartz would resolve the situation.

Jennifer Hartz’s debut story is a hit! CONCEPTION has great character development, phenomenal world building, and a superb plotline. The underlying Biblical elements deepen and enhance the storyline. Be forewarned, however… you’ll be anxiously awaiting the second installment just as soon as you turn the last page of CONCEPTION!

My name is Debbie and I love to read just about anything. My favorite books, however, are generally paranormal romances. I am a social worker with the school system in Florida so I get a lot of time off in the summer to read (except when I'm sitting in the dark with no ac thanks to a hurricane)! I'm happily married and have 2 doggie children. I also enjoying working out, "American Idol", and cheering on the Tampa Bay Lightning hockey team.
