SUSPENSE Thriller

As the state of the world gets more and more complicated there are those unsung heroes whose work is  so deadly and sensitive that most people don’t know they exist, nor do they know of the threats that are kept isolated and away from the average citizen.  It is these unsung heroes whose missions are so deadly and sensitive that should the world know of threats, no one would sleep at night.  When a mission goes terribly wrong, the instigators who masterminded the terrorist cells unleashes his deadly plan of attack that was formed to decimate the total collapse of the United States as we know it.

***  Now living in the 21st century, life has changed dramatically in these United States for people like me who remember the carefree days of our youth.  Time marches on and so does the technology, so much so that attacking the innovative marvels of this century would put such a tailspin on those who have grown dependent upon them.    What Brad Thor has accomplished in FULL BLACK is to outline how disastrous it would be should the unthinkable happen and the events of this fiction become a reality.  But, what frightened me the most was to take this fictionalized outline and be able look at it as a prime example of what could actually be happening today under our very noses.   In that respect, this was a horrifying thought considering the state of consciousness that exists in America today.

What Thor presented in this tale with his go-to fix-it hero, Scott Harvath, was a tremendously constructed fictionalized tale that was not only believable, but totally engrossing from page one to the very last.   Scot Harvath was one tough dude who I would definitely want on my side. He was 100% patriotic and got the job done.  FULL BLACK read like headlines ripped off of the nations newswires and I could almost imagine that there was some truth to his fiction.

BOTTOM LINE:  Everyone should read this book.  It is one of the best suspense tomes I have read in a long time and might push the lackadaisical populace of America into paying attention to what is really going on around them today!

I started reviewing books many years ago - but my love of reading began as soon as I could read and that’s a long time! From my very first library card, I would spend my summers at the local library rather than outside playing. My tastes ran from every horse book I could find, to dog books, then gothic romances, and now historical romances with the Regency period having a very close spot in my heart. [Many of my friends, who really know me, say I was born in the wrong era - they’re probably right.] Now that I am retired, and busier than ever, I read almost all genres with the exception of hard core erotica, horror and anything involving more than one sex partner! I am loyal to my tried and true favorite auto-buy authors but love discovering the newer authors as well. I was once a very impatient person, but now retired, and with a book, an audio, or my Kindle by my side - I am the epitome of infinite patience to sit and wait for whatever comes next be it for the light to change, a doctor’s appointment, or a commercial break on the television!
