Whew, what a spicy anthology from four talented authors!! Cynthia Eden starts A RED HOT NEW YEAR off with New Year’s Bites. Anna Summers is unexpectedly attacked by what she thinks is a large dog. Unfortunately, that dog is a werewolf and her rescuer, Jon York, will have to see her through the changes that ensue…. Cynthia Eden knows how to turn up the heat! New Year’s Bites is the perfect blend of steam and suspense. I love the way Ms. Eden packs so much story into the pages and her character development is superb. Jon is the sort of hero every woman dreams of. He’s a little edgy but oh so endearing with his dedication to Anna. Bravo, Ms. Eden! Night Resolutions by Diana Mercury features a party gone wild! Chantal hoped to put a little spark into her relationship with her current boyfriend while on vacation. Instead, she finds herself drawn to his friend, Jake. Diana Mercury writes one heck of a sizzler with Night Resolutions! Be forewarned, this is not your conventional story as all bets are off at this wild and oh so hedonistic party. The massage scene is quite to die for but readers who like their sex monogamous may find Night Resolutions is not to their taste. Hot is definitely the word for this scorcher! Virginia Reede’s Snow Blind answers the question of “what if” for two friends. Gerry and Jules plan to spend yet another holiday together with their respective partners. But what happens when they discover there is a sexual spark between them? Can these two friends turn into lovers? Friends to lovers is always a great theme and Virginia Reede does it so well with Snow Blind. I have to admit that having Maggie and Joe in the story was a bit distracting at times, but overall the story is quite enjoyable. There is almost an aura of innocence as Jules and Gerry explore one another in such new ways in their relationship. A RED HOT NEW YEAR concludes with Coming on Strong by Denise Rossetti. Gina McBride has lived with her uniqueness, believing she can control any changes through sheer willpower. Her attraction to Sam Jones sends her totally out of control, however, as Gina is about to realize exactly how different she truly is! Sam Jones is a one yummy hero! His acceptance of Gina is absolute and shows how heroic he truly is. Anyone would be shocked to find out their lover is a dragon, but Sam accepts her as she is and opens Gina’s eyes to the beauty of her other skin. What a fantastic story to end with!A RED HOT NEW YEAR is full of great stories and spicy hot sex.
