To convince Frannie, he’ll use every seduction trick in the book. His plan is solid, until Sterling realizes he’s the one who wants to surrender. Every time I read a novel by Lorraine Heath, I think she’s reached her absolute best. And then the next book comes along and she manages to blow me away once again. SURRENDER TO THE DEVIL is an amazing book. It absolutely brims with complex emotions. Frannie hasn’t had an easy life. She’s known poverty, despair, and pain. And yet, through it all, she has somehow managed to retain her giving heart and her optimism. Sterling, on the other hand, has never known poverty, but he, too, has had his share of despair and pain. Everything he has endured has shaped him into a brittle cynic, so when he first sees Frannie he thinks nothing of wanting to use her for his own pleasure. But there’s something about Frannie that brings out a softer side of Sterling. I loved the push-pull between Frannie and Sterling. Lorraine Heath manages to keep the tension high throughout the entire book, and even though I knew I was guaranteed a happy ending, I was still on the edge of my seat wondering how Frannie and Sterling would ever overcome the huge barriers that stood in their way. SURRENDER TO THE DEVIL is at the top of my long Lorraine Heath favorites list. I loved Frannie, I loved Sterling, but more importantly, I loved them together. They were absolutely perfect for each other, and Lorraine Heath does a beautiful job of showing her readers why. I cannot wait for the next book in her Scoundrels of St. James series!
