On the eve of their daughter’s wedding, Jesse Rainwater hands Desiree divorce papers. Devastated and in shock, Desiree suddenly begins to re-examine her marriage. But one thing remains clear: though they’ve had their ups and downs for the past thirty-three years, Desiree loves Jesse every bit as she did when they first met. Now she’ll do anything to prove to Jesse that their love is the most precious gift of all. A CHRISTMAS WEDDING reads like a beautiful scrapbook of Desiree and Jesse’s life. I was captivated from page one, as their relationship is peeled back layer by layer. From their first meeting to their first kiss, their wedding vows, and the rocky periods that follow, readers are given an open and honest accounting of Jesse’s and Desiree’s triumphs and failures. It’s not often that we get to read about a failing marriage in a romance novel, so I really enjoyed this unique perspective. A CHRISTMAS WEDDING shows how important communication is in a marriage, how complacency can be destructive, and most of all, how to find that special spark again. This book is a beautiful love story, written in a lovely style. It’s enchanting and timeless. And as I closed the book on the last page, I took a moment to reflect on my own marriage and what I can do to keep it strong. A CHRISTMAS WEDDING is a delightful, poignant and heartfelt book. I will definitely be keeping my eye on future books by the talented Tracy Wolff.
