Kev Merripen has worshipped Winnifred Hathaway ever since the Hathaway's rescued him when he was just a boy. But his Gypsy past holds secrets, dark ones that he can't share with the beautiful and fragile Win so he vows to love her from afar.

Ever since Win contracted scarlet fever, she has been robbed of fully participating in the world around her. When her family hears about a doctor in France who could help her, she agrees to go, knowing that if she can get well she can convince Kev to give their love a chance. But upon her return she finds Kev much changed and she fears he'll deny himself the one thing they both want--unless Win can figure out a way to change his mind.

I loved both Merripen and Win in the first Hathaway book, Mine Till Midnight, so I was thrilled that the couple received their own story. I'm even more excited to say that the book delivered far beyond my expectations.

SEDUCE ME AT SUNRISE is a beautiful, poignantly written story of two young lovers who have been forced to deny their love for years. I absolutely loved Merripen's dark, brooding personality and his fierce passion. He is Win's champion from the beginning, yet  he refuses to believe he's good enough for her. Win is the perfect compliment to Merripen. I loved how she wasn't afraid to go after what she wanted. She's the type of heroine who wants to live life (even the painful parts) to the fullest--and she won't settle for anything less than Merripen's surrender.

Win and Merripen's love is palpable from the first page. I adored seeing them in their youth at the opening of the book. Even as youngsters, the chemistry between them was electrifying. Readers can feel the desire these two characters have for each other. It is heart-wrenching, pulse-pounding and emotionally draining, yet the satisfying ending makes the emotional roller coaster worth it.

Though I sometimes cursed Merripen's stubbornness, Lisa Kleypas justifies his actions enough for me to understand them (even when I wanted to strangle him!). I did find the ending to be a little too neat and tidy, giving Merripen an easy way out, but it in no way marred my enjoyment of the book.

If you are looking for a truly emotional, passionate read, look no further than SEDUCE ME AT SUNRISE. This book grabs your heart from the get-go and takes you on a poignant journey that will stay with you long after you reach the end. SEDUCE ME AT SUNRISE has earned a place on my keeper shelf. I can't wait to see what Ms. Kleypas does next!
