Four years have passed since Cat Crawfield left her hometown to become a Special Agent tasked with killing the undead. She has never forgotten the vampire love she left behind, and when Bones shows up again, all her emotions laying dormant come roaring back to life. Cat is the target of unknown assassins and a lecherous master vampire who wants her for his latest exotic toy and she will need all the expertise and support she can garner to fight the dark forces aligned against her.

One Foot in the Grave is the blockbuster second installment in the Night Huntress series. To best understand the nuances of this world and the characters within it, I recommend everyone first read Halfway to the Grave, which is the first equally stupendous Night Huntress novel. One Foot in the Grave had me enthralled from the first scene where Cat encounters a Master Vampire with a power exceeding all the other undead that she has faced over the past four years as a Secret Agent.

The adventure is non-stop and the characters interestingly complex with agendas and secrets that were totally unexpected. Bones had me mesmerized again from his first “Hallo, Kitten.” Kudos to Ms. Frost for so skillfully creating a character with such heart-melting tenderness that is also so ruthlessly lethal. The sexual encounters between Cat and Bones are lusty, passionate and graphically erotic with a violent edge. Once you read one of Ms. Frost’s novels, she will surely gain a firm place on your automatic must-buy list.
