Julian Salvatore is obsessed with convincing Grace McKenna to date him. Grace, a lawyer with her sights set on a high-powered career as a district attorney, has no interest in any romantic relationship with strings. Teenagers are missing and later turning up dead, and Julian has inadvertently become a hindrance to the perpetrator. The events bring back demons from his past, and he and Grace must unravel the web of horror and deceit before they become the next victims.

Hidden Fire is another great entry in Davis’ explosive, sexy series about firefighters. Our hero this time around is the Hispanic Lothario that we have seen traces of in each of the two previous books in this series. Like Under Fire, this book does not really involve the career of the firefighters or the Firehouse. Hopefully we will return to more firefighting exploits in future books.  Nevertheless, the pace of Hidden Fire is fast, the romance is sexy and the suspense will keep you on the edge of your seat.

The relationship between Julian and Grace is hot enough to cause a fire. Gentle readers who dislike explicit earthy sexual content and are disturbed by dark violent perpetrators bordering on the edge of horror, might wish to give this book a miss. For everyone else who enjoys edgy romantic suspense, I think Hidden Fire will deliver a satisfying read.
