Amelia Jones has lost her marriage, her job and her house. She is frantic upon finding herself and her children homeless with just three days before Christmas. When a friend offers her a temporary solution in the unoccupied house of her employer, she gratefully accepts. She and the children are busy creating simple decorations for the approaching Christmas holidays when the absent homeowner returns, and he is not a fan of Christmas in the least. Their Christmas Family Miracle is a delightful, warm fuzzy tale with likeable characters that you quickly grow to care about. The events in Amelia’s life leading to her homeless situation represent a very realistic plight that could have been taken from the daily news headlines. I also appreciated the multi-faceted character of Jake as the author allows us to see his pain as well as his struggle to valiantly reach beyond himself to touch the lives of Amelia and her children. Rather than a cardboard Scrooge lookalike, he becomes a living, breathing individual that the reader sympathizes with and cheers for as he makes hard decisions. If you are looking for a gentle, romantic read full of holiday glow, look no further than Their Christmas Family Miracle. Reviewed by Crystal |
