Enjoy the Afterverse: an Eververse Anthology is presented as a kind of ‘slice of life’ for the Eververse series. I believe this anthology is intended as a prequel to Stella and Audra Price’s Eververse series, which is forthcoming. However, this book seems to rely heavily on a foreknowledge the authors assume the reader has. Consequently, most of the stories did not make much sense to me.

Having now finished the anthology, I still feel lost as to many of the most simple elements. Although I have a slight idea, I am really not sure what exactly the Eververse or the Afterverse is. I also can not say whether a Cento and a Conglacio is a position, family name, or a type of demon. A glossary at the beginning of the book may have alleviated this issue greatly.

I feel like the authors had an interesting idea, and they obviously have vivid imaginations, but the mechanics hurt this book more than anything. An editor should have caught the numerous grammatical and spelling errors, along with the typos, all of which proved continuously distracting to the stories.

I would be interested in reading this anthology again, with some revision and re-editing. While I am disappointed in this book, I do believe Stella & Audra Price have great potential in the hands of a good editor.
