Yelena's abilities are making people nervous. She's agreed to study about magic and focus on learning just what she can do and what it means to be a Soulfinder. Unfortunately, events are spiraling out of control and Yelena will be thrown into a plot of intrigue between Sitia and Ixia where Yelena will have to decide who to trust and who is a traitor. Foes from the previous book are joining forces as Yelena will face her biggest challenge yet as she will have to conquer not only a great power, but also her own fears.

FIRE STUDY is the third book in the trilogy featuring Yelena and Valek. I highly suggest reading this series in order as Maria V. Snyder builds layers within layers. The overall story and world of Yelena is vastly complex but very smoothly done as each book flows seamlessly to the next, putting various pieces together to form one fascinating trilogy.

Maria Snyder’s series is one I have to ensure I have a whole segment of time set aside to read each book as it is released as this series is so good that interruptions (you know, like work!) just aren't permitted! FIRE STUDY did not disappoint! In fact, I thought Maria Snyder took the characters and added even more depth to them. Yelena and Valek are both faced with some horrible choices and the results are not always nice. FIRE STUDY has some heart wrenching moments but as the story progresses, the overall beauty of Yelena's power begins to emerge. A symmetry of sorts is established.

The fantasy world helped diffuse some of the tension that is created but be prepared for one powerful and emotional tale as Maria Snyder takes readers on another fantastic journey! Bravo, Ms. Snyder!
