Kathryn and Hadden’s love stood the test of time. Refusing to be separated, even by death, they vowed to be reunited one day on Earth. Trapped in another plane for decades, all their hopes rest in the hands of the current reincarnation of their souls, Kara and Hayden. Kara and Hayden are inexplicably drawn to each other when they meet at a charity function. Both of their names are drawn for a chance to win a vacation on a cruise ship, but there’s one little catch – they must make it through a whole night in the old house where Kathryn and Hadden were murdered years before… After reviewing another of Karen Erickson’s books last month, I immediately went looking for more of her work! She has an engaging writing style that will draw the reader into the story right away. Her characters are charming and well-fleshed, no matter the brevity of the book, and the plots are delightful. Haunted Dreams is a splendid example of this. There are really four main characters in this book, and while this might seem a large cast for a novella, Erickson handles it with aplomb. We learn enough about Kathryn and Hadden’s history to understand the intense feelings our modern couple, Kara and Hayden have for each other easily. Haunted Dreams is a wonderful little paranormal romance you can cozy up to year round!
