Powerhouse writing duo CT Adams and Cathy Clamp have given us another winner with Moon’s Fury, the latest in the Tales of the Sazi series.

Cara Salinas is the sheriff of a small town in the Texas Hill Country who is very dedicated to her extended family. She's also the alpha of a small pack of Mexican Red Wolf Sazi shape shifters.

Adam Mueller is the second in a very large pack of Timber Wolf Sazi in Minnesota who is in TX scoping out the territory since his pack is being split and half ordered to join Cara's pack.

While Cara and Adam are getting used to each other in preparation for the integration, a group of rogue Sazi raptors is attacking children, human and Sazi, and Cara needs to track them down.

Now Cara and Adam must work together to hunt down the raptors destroy them before they can steal any more children. In the middle of all this, neither one expected to find their fated mate... in each other.

New mythology about the Sazi world is revealed as we continue in the series and in the book. I enjoyed these tantalizing new glimpses into Sazi society and loved the addition of a few surprising abilities and gifts (or curses depending on how the characters look at it). We also find a bit of foreshadowing here that tells us there is something very big brewing on the horizon. Come to think of it, this may be the first time future events of such magnitude are hinted at in a book in the series. I can’t be certain since I’ve read each successive book as they’ve been released and may have forgotten some aspects, but the sense of impending doom is very strong here.

Cara and Adam are each very strong alphas in their own right so I knew sparks were going to fly between this couple! I was not disappointed in the least. Passion very elemental in nature slowly unfurls between Cara and Adam until some very hot and sexy encounters finally occur. I love that Adams and Clamp never lose sight of the fact that the Sazi are part animal, bringing those instincts into play rather than glossing them over to make the characters more humanistic.

Cara and Adam have their weaknesses and their strengths, but together they are extremely formidable. Cultural beliefs and differences also play a huge role and add more depth to the story. Seeing our couple overcome these issues to find happiness together is very emotional.

One extra special treat in Moon’s Fury is the opportunity to catch up with some old friends. I loved visiting Bobby, Tony, and Lucas again and finding out what is happening in their lives. Sometimes bringing previous characters into the story can be difficult and turn into a cameo that has no bearing on the plot. That is not the case here as all three of these men play very significant roles in the story. At the same time, having so many alphas in such close quarters really ups the ante and brings even more tension to the book.

Action packed and full of enough heat to rival a Texas summer, Moon’s Fury will captivate readers from page one. The adventure begins immediately as we are introduced to Cara just before she has to perform a rescue from a car accident. From there the fast pace of the story continues, slowing down occasionally for details and information to be shared. There are several stories all occurring at once, all seeming unrelated though we know at some point the bomb will be dropped and it will all come together beautifully. All I wanted to do was keep on reading, but unfortunately real life interfered with annoying things like working and sleeping, forcing me to tear my attention away from the story.
