FBI linguist Hope Harper took quite a chance by following Scott Dillon in PARALLEL HEAT. After all, he isn’t a human but is instead an alien in the Refarian army. Scott is an oddity even among the aliens as he is a hybrid; his Antousian side leaves him uncertain of himself. Now another man has entered the picture, claiming that he too loves Hope. Hope feels strangely drawn to Jake Tierney, but will her love for Scott endure? What dark secrets will be unveiled as Jake reveals both his mission and his future in his parallel world?

Deidre Knight continues her fantastic science fiction romance series with PARALLEL SEDUCTION.  If you haven’t read the two previous books, PARALLEL ATTRACTION and PARALLEL HEAT, it is highly recommended that you read them prior to starting PARALLEL SEDUCTION.  Events from the prior novels play important roles in this fascinating series, particularly in regards to the relationship between Scott and Hope.  In fact, the events of PARALLEL SEDUCTION begin immediately after PARALLEL HEAT and the various facets of the parallel universes may be a bit confusing if one hasn’t read the previous books.

The relationship between Hope, Scott, and Jake is well done. Deidre Knight offers up a resolution to Hope’s attraction to both men that is sure to satisfy both romance and science fiction fans alike. Jake is a character in particular that one can’t help but grieve for as his world has been turned upside down by the constantly changing nature of the future. His arrival into the current day situation only to find that his mission is now irrelevant is heartbreaking, but Deidre Knight ensures that his noble character remains true to form throughout the tale.

Hope is also an unusual character. Not only is she legally blind, but she also has diabetes. Her struggle to overcome both of her disabilities is an encouraging one as she shows how someone can achieve no matter what odds are against them.
