Becky Miller is back and on a new “mission”! Although she dreams of a perfect life—one where she is the perfect mother, wife and successful church mentor—the truth is that Becky is feeling more overwhelmed. Between renovating their new house, taking care of her mother-in-law, her eldest son’s trouble at school, her sister’s visit, and worry over her best friend, Becky is on the fast track to exhaustion and stress. Can Becky learn a valuable lesson about the futility of trying to fix everything and discover the power of letting God renovate her heart?

RENOVATING BECKY MILLER is a fantastic, entertaining read with a valuable message. Ms. Hinck’s delightful humor once again shines through the character of Becky Miller, giving readers a heartfelt look into a mother who struggles to take care of everything and everyone around her while neglecting to take care of herself. Becky has the classic “can’t-say-no” syndrome and wrestles with this issue throughout the book.

As a mother of two, I could readily identify with Becky as she tried to fulfill everyone’s needs. Through Ms. Hinck’s fun and easygoing storytelling, we learn that life is never going to be perfect. It’s chaotic and full of ups and downs, yet God’s love can turn even the strongest obstacles into moments to be savored.

Continuing with her “Walter Mitty” style, Ms. Hinck once again opens each chapter with a slice of Becky’s daydreams. Only this time, Becky’s putting herself into the movies and readers will delight in trying to figure out just which movie Becky’s cast herself in next!

RENOVATING BECKY MILLER is the perfect mom-lit book for all those haggard, stressed out moms looking to put their disorganized world into order. Steal away some “me” time and laugh with Becky as she learns that it’s not how much we do that matters to God, it’s how much we love.
