SONG OF SEDUCTION is a short foray into the sensual world of Trista Bane’s vampires. Nicklos has loved Princess Savannah for as long as he can remember. He is willing to do anything to keep her safe so he asks her father to agree to a binding ceremony, despite the rather drastic consequences. This binding ceremony wipes out Savannah’s memories of her love for Nicklos along with draining his powers as an incubus and placing them under her command. Savannah is unaware that she is a member of the Amiathea, one of the few vampire races with the ability to walk in the sun. Savannah is in danger from the Lamiae who believe they can attain the powers of the Amiathea by draining them. Nicklos knows that the binding ceremony allows him to provide a level of protection for Savannah until her 25th birthday when all of her memories will return to her. Unfortunately, the Lamiae have a surprise for her in the guise of a cruise. This cruise is populated by one of the Lamiae, Hektor, and his minions. Nicklos will have to help Savannah regain their lost love or the efforts of the binding ceremony will have been for naught. SONG OF SEDUCTION perfectly captures the powerful and sensuous allure of vampires. Savannah is unaware of her powers or heritage and just as susceptible to the charms of the Lamiae as any human would be. Ms. Bane tastefully handles Savannah’s reactions to the amorous attacks by Hektor and two of his female minions without leaving the reader feeling uncomfortable or irritated with Savannah for being misled by the vampires. The seduction scenes are perhaps some of the best of the genre. Trista Bane continues to amaze this reviewer with her ability to provide new twists on old themes. The creation of conflict between various races of vampires has been used before but Ms. Bane makes this seem like a new concept. Perhaps the only disappointment with SONG OF SEDUCTION is the brevity of the format. More development of the various vampire races and their internal strife would have been appreciated but there are simply not enough pages for all aspects to be thoroughly fleshed out. Trista Bane is such a talented writer that a 45 page story is simply not enough! Reviewed by Anne
