Since she was a child, Kita has heard fearful stories of the eye-commanders, and one especially ruthless one in particular – Sasha Lucien. When she finds herself cornered on the sexy alpha werewolf’s territory, she still considers him to the be the lesser of the evils she faces. At least he would grant her swift death, as opposed to the alternatives her enemy might employ… Sasha knows he should kill the unknown shape shifter on his lands. Not only has she entered his territory without permission, she has also brought a hunter with her. Yet he can’t seem to bring himself to killing her, and instead finds himself tending her wounds… It doesn’t take long for Sasha and Kita to realize they are mates. But both have secrets that threaten to destroy each other, an enemies determined to make that happen. I am always a fan of a good shape shifter tale, and Desiree Gelsi’s Sweet Submission most certainly qualifies as a good one! While the story had a bit of a slow start, it did not take long to pick up the pace. It took me a little while to get into the feel of the story, but it was never a hardship to do so. The story was always good, and although it took a few pages to feel like I was part of the story, it definitely succeeded in that. That said, once the story really got going, I was entranced. Kita is my favorite kind of heroine – the kind that continuously confounds her leading man, keeping him on his toes constantly. Although Sasha is known to be among the most ruthless of werewolves, and an eye-commander to boot, he has definitely more than met his match in Kita! The eye-commanders are an interesting concept and I would really enjoy seeing a sequel to Sweet Submission that tells us more about them. This book gave some information, but left enough mystery surrounding this group of dangerous werewolves to leave me hungry for more. A sequel to Sweet Submission already has a place in my auto-buy list, should it happen!
