Hold on to your seatbelts readers for Kari Thomas will take you on an adventure ride of magic, passion, and danger in Temptation Unleashed! Though this is her debut novel, Kari’s talent shines through proving she may very well have what it takes to rise to the top. She knows how to blend just the right amounts of suspense, emotion, action, and scenery to create a delightful recipe for a wonderful paranormal romance. The attraction between Kira and Aiden is immediate and intense, though both try to deny its power. She is terrified of wild animals after seeing her family slaughtered by a wild cat so the Calhoun family’s passion for animal conservation and protection is completely at odds to everything she believes. Aiden’s hatred for witchcraft consumes him, preventing him from trusting Kira, even though she proves to him time and again he has nothing to fear from her abilities. Many barriers stand in the way of their growing desire for one another and watching Kira and Aiden overcome them one by one makes for a compelling read. The multiple plots occurring simultaneously add depth and complexity to the tale, keeping our attention riveted as we try to uncover the truth. The identity of the villain will not come as a surprise though the depth of the atrocities committed will stun most readers. One thing very different about the shape shifter world Kari Thomas has created is the wide variety of animal shifters found in one family. Usually in shape shifter novels, every member of a single bloodline has the same animal form. Here, everyone has a different nature. Unusual, yes, so I for one would love to see if more background is given in to the shape shifter society created in Temptation Unleashed in future books by the talented Kari Thomas. © Kelley A.
