One
phone call telling him Lacey Vaughn has broken it off with her current
boyfriend lands her best friend Nick Stone on her doorstep. To console her,
yes, but Nick is also determined to not miss this chance to finally make
Lacey see her as something more than a friend and take their relationship to
the next level. He knows they can be good together, that they could have a
more than wonderful future together – and he’ll do anything to help Lacey
see that.
After admitting to Nick that she believes her boyfriend problem is because
she is boring in bed, Lacey is caught off guard by Nick’s offer to ‘teach’
her in the bedroom. Fearful of ruining their friendship, but between Nick’s
persistence and her own libido’s inability to stop thinking about the offer,
she capitulates.
Will Lacey realize that Nick wants more than just her body? Or will she
ruin the best thing that ever happened to her?
Wow! Was it really just over a year ago that author Anne Rainey published
her first book? I was lucky enough to get to review that book,
HALEY’S CABIN, and a new fan was born. With her upcoming release
from Samhain Publishing, TOUCHING LACE, Anne Rainey proves she
is no one-hit wonder by delivering yet another short story that is big on
romance and packs plenty of sexual heat!
Is there anything better than a romance in which two best friends find true
love together? What could make a better relationship than two people who
already know each other well and like what they know? Of course, that
situation is never without it’s own issues, and Ms. Rainey is mindful of
these in TOUCHING LACE.
Lacey’s worry over losing the man who has been her best friend, the friend
who has been there for her through thick and thin for years, is completely
understandable. But that very rationale is the best reason for her to take
the plunge into sensual new territory with Nick, a fact she is quick to
realize.
Nick’s sexy diligence helps with that, of course. The man is relentless in
his pursuit of the woman he loves, and considers her needs at every stage of
the game. Perhaps his in-depth knowledge of Lacey could be considered an
unfair advantage, but when the motivations are so right, and the end result
is one grand love affair destined to last the rest of their lives, who can
really fault him?
TOUCHING LACE is a scintillating romance that will have women
eyeing their best male friends in a whole new light, wondering if maybe –
just maybe – their own great love might be lurking closer than they ever
imagined.
